1. Do my company members need to meet certain criteria to drive Empire One vehicles?
Yes. The individuals from your company whom you assign as operators must be between 25 and 75 years of age, possess a valid BC Driver’s License (out of province/country licenses are subject to additional checks), and have no more than two minor traffic violations in the past three years on their driving record. Potential members who do not meet one or all of these criteria may still be considered subject to review and possible driving tests or driver development courses.
2. At what time can I expect to receive/ drop off my vehicle?
Empire One’s drop off and return times are the same for all categories of cars.
The earliest collection for all vehicles is 11am, while the latest vehicle return is 9am on the scheduled drop-off day.
3. How do weekends work?
Weekends are a minimum two-day booking (i.e., Saturday and Sunday, return Monday). A Friday booking is considered a weekend and bookings are at the weekend rate, and points are per day. Statutory holidays retain the same points cost as a standard weekday.
4. How many individuals in my company can drive an Empire One vehicle?
A Corporate Platinum membership conveniently secures three operators from your organization, a Corporate Gold membership secures two operators. For additional drivers, Empire One encourages the purchase of additional membership(s). This has a “stacking” effect, doubling the number of points, kilometers, and operators available to your company.
5. Can I share membership with another company?
Empire One corporate membership cannot be shared.
6. Is it possible to drive Empire One cars out of the country?
Empire One vehicles are currently not permitted to be driven outside of Canada.
7. What is the mileage restriction?
Members are allotted a maximum number of points and kilometres based on the specific membership tier. When either of these numbers is exhausted the membership must be renewed.
8. What happens if I use all my points or all of my mileage allowance before year-end?
An Empire One membership is controlled by three factors:
a) Points Usage,
b) Mileage Usage,
c) Time
An Empire One membership ceases when one of three events occurs:
i) A member uses up their points allocation,
ii) A member uses up their mileage allocation, or
iii) 12 months passes from the date of joining.
iiii) i + ii do not apply if additional points and /or kilometers are purchased within 12 months of commencement date.
Additional points or kilometers can be purchased within 12 months of the membership start date.
Members are encouraged to renew their membership once one of the above conditions is met.
9. If I renew my membership, what happens to my unused mileage or points from the previous year?
Empire One will carry forward half of the unused mileage to a renewed membership.
10. How does the insurance work?
Members are responsible for the safe return of the vehicle. All vehicles are comprehensively insured with an excess of $5,000.00.
If the cost of repair is less than the insurance excess, members will be charged the cost of the repair plus a service charge; if the cost of the repair is more than the insurance excess, members will be charged the excess.
11. Once I have paid my initial membership fees, are there any other costs I can expect to pay?
Delivery, gas, damage and loss are all extra’s on top of the membership fee. All additional costs accrued will be charged to the members’ credit card. Invoice statements will be sent to members on a monthly basis.
12. Are there any incentives to introduce new members to Empire One?
Members will receive a referral bonus in the form of 100 points added to their annual membership package.
13. Can I create a customized package for my company?
Empire One prides itself on its flexibility and ability to make whatever accommodations required ensuring your membership works for you and your company, while providing an experience of pure driving pleasure. To discuss custom package options, please speak with an Empire One representative.
