1. What is the minimum age for joining Empire One?

Empire One membership is available to individuals who are 28 to 75 years of age. Interested parties under minimum age requirements may be considered subject to approval. Please speak to an Empire One representative for additional information.

2. What driving experience do I need?

You need to possess a valid BC driver's license (non BC/Canadian licenses subject to additional checks. Please contact us for details). You will need to show proof of the cars you currently own and have owned/driven in the last three years. You may be asked to complete a one-day driver development course before membership is granted.

3. Do I need a clean driving record?

Empire One will accept drivers with a maximum of two minor traffic offences in the last three years.

Any potential members with additional offences may be considered on an individual basis.

4. At what time can I expect to receive/ drop off my vehicle?

Empire One’s drop off and return times are the same for all categories of cars.

The earliest collection for all vehicles is 11am, while the latest vehicle return is 9am on the scheduled drop-off day.

5. How do weekends work?

Weekends are a minimum two-day booking (i.e., Saturday and Sunday, return Monday). A Friday booking is considered a weekend and bookings are at the weekend rate, and points are per day. Statutory holidays retain the same points cost as a standard weekday.

6. Can my partner also drive the vehicle?

Premier and Platinum tier Empire One membership extends driving privileges to a member’s spouse.

7. Can I share a membership with a friend?

Empire One membership privileges cannot be shared with friends.

8. Is it possible to drive Empire One cars out of the country?

Empire One vehicles are currently not permitted to be driven outside of Canada.

9. What is the mileage restriction?

Members are allotted a maximum number of points and kilometres based on the specific membership tier.  When either of these numbers is exhausted the membership must be renewed.

10. What happens if I use all my points or all of my mileage allowance before year-end?

An Empire One membership is controlled by three factors:
a) Points Usage,
b) Mileage Usage,
c) Time

An Empire One membership ceases when one of three events occurs:

i) A member uses up their points allocation,
ii) A member uses up their mileage allocation, or
iii) 12 months passes from the date of joining.
iiii) i + ii do not apply if additional points and /or kilometers are purchased within 12 months of commencement date.

Additional points or kilometers can be purchased within 12 months of the membership start date.

Members are encouraged to renew their membership once one of the above conditions is met.

11. If I renew my membership, what happens to my unused mileage or points from the previous year?

Empire One will carry forward half of the unused mileage to a renewed membership.

12. How does the insurance work?

Members are responsible for the safe return of the vehicle. All vehicles are comprehensively insured with an excess of $5,000.00.

If the cost of repair is less than the insurance excess, members will be charged the cost of the repair plus a service charge; if the cost of the repair is more than the insurance excess, members will be charged the excess.

13. Once I have paid my initial membership fees, are there any other costs I can expect to pay?

Delivery, gas, damage and loss are all extra’s on top of the membership fee. All additional costs accrued will be charged to the members’ credit card. Invoice statements will be sent to members on a monthly basis.

14. Are there any incentives to introduce new members to Empire One?

Members will receive a referral bonus in the form of 100 points added to their annual membership package.

15. Do you offer corporate membership?

Absolutely. Empire One proudly offers two levels of Corporate Membership – Corporate Platinum and Corporate Gold. For information on Corporate Membership options, please refer to our Corporate Membership section.
